The Best Frozen Yogurt Store Near Me

Around the place where I live, there are 3 self serve frozen yogurt stores called 16 Handles, Let’s Yo, and Cups. I absolutely loved one of the stores. But then my mom asked me why I loved it so much. I didn’t know why. So, I decided to  try out all three stores and make notes so that I could write a blog post comparing the 3 stores and the pros and cons for all of them.

16 HANDLES :  This store had 16 flavors, (each flavor had a handle, therefore it has the name 16 Handles.) 42 toppings, 5 sauces, whipped cream, and 2 flavors that were milk, egg, and nut free.

I have to say that this ice cream was creamier and melted less quickly than the others. I also loved the marshmallow sauce which the other places did not have. Unfortunately, my favorite topping (the 3 colored cookie) was not there when I went to 16 Handles one day but it was there when I went back another day.

This frozen yogurt was more expensive than the other places.  They had a coupon that said that if you took more than 4 oz. you get $1 off but it was still expensive. The cost was 55 cents per oz.

The place was beautiful and fun. The lights on the walls at 16 handles changed every few seconds. They had nice music.

Our cashier was very nice, she was ready to serve and help us, and she also changed gloves when she gave us samples. One disadvantage about 16 handles is that you can’t take samples yourselves, someone else has to do that for you.

LET’S YO! : This store had 14 flavors, 60 toppings, lots of sauces, whipped cream, and 2 flavors that were milk, egg, and nut free.

This ice cream melted very fast. The chocolate was very chocolatey. However it was hard to tell because by the time I sat down to eat, it was already half melted. A lot of my favorite toppings were thankfully there.

The price was 49 cents per oz. However, for Let’s Yo, it was cheaper because of a 10% off coupon. In fact they always give us a coupon for the next visit. That way, we have never eaten there without a coupon.

There are usually Ipads here but when we went, the largest IPad table was broken. The few Ipads on the other table were sideways and the Ipads don’t tilt so it is hard to play the games.

When we went, the cashier was on the phone but he stopped talking when we asked him for the ingredient list. When we left, we noticed that our cashier was not around so he couldn’t help me with a question I had about something. There was no helpful person in the place so the store was not warm and inviting.

CUPS : The words on their door says – “Cups – Frozen Yogurt that’s HOT”. I really like it because the yogurt is cold but it’s popular so the word hot is used as a pun.

This store had 16 flavors, with 2 that were milk, egg, and nut free. There were 60 toppings, 3 sauces and whipped cream. I really liked the variety of flavors of toppings. The choice is very varied and delicious. The frozen yogurt was very sweet and tasty. It did not melt for a long time.

The yogurt is 49 cents per oz. If you register online, they send you a one-time coupon but after that they don’t send you any more coupons. So you usually just pay the regular price.

There was good music here. Other than that, there is no entertainment, like Ipads or games. But, the good thing about that is that you get to spend time with family and friends and you can chat with them.

Our cashier was very nice and helpful. When I asked her for the ingredient list she gladly gave a book with details to me. When I asked for samples, she gave me as many taster cups as I would like. When she gave my mom and I spoons when we were paying, she gave me a green spoon and gave my mom a purple spoon because I am a boy and she is a girl. I really enjoyed my visit here.

After I did this test, I thought that it was odd that Let’s Yo was my favorite store before doing this test. But after I looked at the facts, I saw that in most ways, Cups is the best and Let’s Yo falls down in my list of yogurt places! Other than the price advantage, Let’s Yo seemed to have many disadvantages. However, I think they can improve by getting their furniture and Ipads fixed and getting people who care about their jobs. Even though 16 Handles was absolutely wonderful, it was much more expensive than the other places. They should send more coupons or bring down their price to come up on my list.

I think that Cups is really the best from all angles. Right now, I can’t think of anything that Cups should improve on, but when I do, I will update this post to let you know. I will allow Cups to open up a store on my Cool Lane and it should have a long line trailing from the door!

  1. You have done such an awesome research - truly impressive! This is the kind of objective analysis that everyone should do while making a choice. As for me, I now know for sure which store to go to if I am in the mood for Cups (pun intended) of frozen yogurt! love, Baba
